Undergraduate Orientation

Hi! I am so excited to meet you all. My name is Jordan and I am from Ann Arbor, Michigan. I transferred to Brown from GW in Fall 2022. I am currently studying Urban Studies & IAPA; I am more than happy to answer any questions about these concentrations and departments.

I am a yoga instructor (& would love to have you join me at one of my Nelson yoga classes), a lover of fermented foods, and an amateur runner, roller blader, and climber. One of my favorite things to do is walk or run along the bike bath and Blackstone Boulevard!

I am on the outreach team for HOPE (Housing Opportunities for People Everywhere), a student organization that fights for housing justice in Providence and RI. I also teach sex-ed through SHAPE at high schools in Providence. I love to study in the campus center, the Hay, and outdoors when possible! Providence is a really awesome city with a lot of personality, parks, cool people, and yummy food. It has been fun to explore new places and venture off campus when I've had the time. 

My advice is to take things slow. As someone who needs solo time to recharge, I want to impart to you that there is no rush to make friends immediately or to be incredibly social. It is hard not to overextend yourself, but give yourself the permission to ease into Brown in your own time. I can't wait to get to know you more during orientation :)
