Undergraduate Orientation

You’re In! Here’s What Comes Next.

Now that you’ve been admitted to Brown, follow these initial steps to prepare for arrival.

Congratulations again on your admission to Brown University! Below are a few of the first actions you should take as you look ahead to joining the Brown community this fall.

First Things First

  1. Close the loop on your academic records. First-year students, please ensure your counselor submits the Final School Report and Final transcript by June 24. It is your responsibility to ensure this is completed by your counselor. Transfer students, please ensure that your final 2021-22 college transcript is submitted to Brown by June 15. For all matriculating students, these documents may be submitted to us through the Common Application, Scoir or other applicable electronic delivery services or agencies.
  2. If you self-reported test scores, send your official scores. If you have not already done so, please contact the College Board, American College Testing Service, IELTS and ETS for TOEFL to have your scores released and sent to Brown. Scores must be sent directly from these sources; we cannot accept score reports from you or your high school counselor.
  3. No deposit is required to hold your place in the class. Now that you have confirmed your place at Brown, please remember to notify other colleges to which you have been admitted that you don’t intend to enroll.
  4. Save the date! First-year students, make sure to mark down on your calendars First Year Move In on August 31st and New Student Orientation on September 1st-6th. We can't wait to see you! Transfer and RUE students, additional information about orientation and important dates will be shared here as soon as it is available. We can't wait to see you!

Set Up Your Brown Email Account

Beginning in early summer, the College will email you regularly — only at your Brown account —  with important information about course offerings and lotteries, academic advising and campus life. Please activate your Brown account as soon as possible. You will need your BrownID, which was sent to you via email following your enrollment. If you experience issues, call the IT Service Center at 401-863-4357 for assistance.
