Undergraduate Orientation

Kamala is a senior concentrating in Biology on the pre-med track, and she transferred to Brown University in Fall 2022 from Howard University. She grew up in Daegu, South Korea, and loves traveling and learning about new cultures, photography, and describes herself as a big foodie! On campus, Kamala is a member of various pre med organizations, a federal work study student, and has been involved with programs that have allowed her to travel to countries like Israel, the UAE, and Poland.

Her favorite courses at Brown have been in the Public Health (PHP) Department. Kamala is also dedicated to creating a sense of community for all students at Brown, especially Black and minority students - as she, as a Black woman at a PWI, knows that starting at a new place can feel even harder as a minority.

She is so excited to serve as a peer advisor and on the Transfer Student Association to help welcome new Brunonians. She encourages any new students to reach out and chat to her about anything!
