Undergraduate Orientation

Hey, this is Lara! I transferred to Brown from UC Berkeley in the spring of 2023 and am a second semester sophomore ('25.5) studying economics and statistics. I'm from the beautiful city of Istanbul, Turkey — hit me up if you ever come visit!

At Brown, I'm involved in research, the Entrepreneurship Program, film magazine, and Greek life. In my free time, I like to play the harmonica, watch movies and anime, read books, hit the Nelson, and explore what Providence has to offer. My favorite place on campus is the Music Library, and I love Small Point Cafe and the public library in downtown Providence.

A closing piece of advice is to be open to new experiences, be it joining an event you never thought to attend or shopping any class you're interested in!
