Joyce Gong
Biography
Hey everyone! I’m Joyce, and I’m a rising Junior from Belmont, Massachusetts studying Biophysics ⚛️. I transferred to Brown from the University of Southern California last year in the fall of 2023.
On campus, I’m currently involved in Brown Figure Skating Club, Brown Alzheimer’s Activists, and Greek Life. Off campus, I also represent Team USA 🇺🇸 at Ballet Sur Glace figure skating ⛸️ competitions across the world (just competed in Bordeaux, France) 🇫🇷 ! I am also involved in neuroimaging research analyzing traumatic brain 🧠 injury effects at USC DABI Lab, building a cancer screening tool for transgender patients at Harvard Dana Farber, and conducting clinical cardio thoracic 🫀research at Boston Children’s — reach out if you have any questions about getting involved in research!
You’ll most likely catch me in the absolute quiet section at the Rock 🪨, coaching at Meehan, exploring new coffee shops ☕️ or soaking up some sun on the main green with friends :)
Being a TRUE student can be difficult at times but it will give you an unparalleled and incredible experience at Brown. Open yourself up to meeting new people everywhere you go, everyone is so friendly and I promise they want to get to know you <3
I’m super excited to meet each and every one of you and guide you through this exciting journey. The TRUE family was so welcoming to me and I hope to help you immerse into such a wonderful community. Feel free to reach out to me at @joyceagong on Instagram or joyce_gong@brown.edu through email! 🤎🧸
