Justin Weiss
Biography
Hi everyone! My name is Justin Weiss. I'm from Blue Bell, PA (outside of Philly) and I'm concentrating in Applied Math - Economics. I transferred to Brown from the University of Michigan for the Spring 2023 semester. Now, at Brown, I've gotten involved in Brown Alzheimer's Activists, economics research, TA’ing, Brown Data Science Institute Departmental Undergraduate Group, Brown Socially Responsible Investment Fund, and of course, supporting the TRUE community. When I'm not doing those, I love working out, exploring Providence (both city and parks), playing tennis, hanging out with friends (the Student Center is always a great spot to sit down or play pool), and showing out to support Brown Athletics.
Being a TRUE student can be hard, and sometimes even uncomfortable – it's a new environment with new people. I encourage you to embrace this discomfort and try new things while staying true to yourself. You'll see very quickly this kind of philosophy is baked into all walks of life at Brown, from classes to student organizations to anything else you may think of. Reach out to students and faculty, TRUE and non-TRUE, and hopefully by doing that you'll find your pocket at Brown. And one last – very important – piece of advice: make sure to try many different food places around Providence, they’re great! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me at justin_l_weiss@brown.edu
