Undergraduate Orientation

Hi everyone! I'm Ishan Khurana, an incoming junior who transferred in from UCLA in Spring of 2024. I'm studying biochemistry and English, and am considering the pre-med track. I'm a member of Brown Men's Ultimate Frisbee, conduct cancer biology research, and am a part of Brown's creative writing club "Who's Frank?" as well as the cardistry and card magic club "The Jack of Clubs". I also write and make crosswords for "post-", a creative nonfiction magazine at Brown. Outside of school, I enjoy playing and writing music (guitar, piano, mandolin, and singing), pickleball, and table tennis.

My biggest advice to incoming students is that it's ok to feel like you don't belong. It takes time and patience to adjust, and to find people and places you feel connected to, but that it will happen. Belonging is an ongoing process -- I'm still adjusting! -- but it is something that will always come, and the TRUE community at Brown is the best place to start.
