Undergraduate Orientation

Hi new TRUEs! My name is Charlotte Brandman (she/her), and I'm a junior concentrating in Gender and Sexuality Studies. Outside of class, I'm involved with Sexual Health Advocacy through Peer Education (SHAPE), Brown Mock Trial, and undergraduate research through the Sociology and Gender and Sexuality Studies departments. I love knitting (I know some great yarn stores if you need recommendations!), trying new food, and spending time with my friends. One piece of advice I want to offer is don't be afraid to try something new! Brown has forced me to step out of my comfort zone both academically and extracurricularly whether it was taking an archaeology class or teaching sex education to high school students. But the same experiences that scared me have become my most fulfilling memories at Brown! I'm so happy that I was encouraged by other TRUEs to try new things in my first semester because and I hope you find some encouragement to step out of your comfort zone, too.
