Undergraduate Orientation

Hi! My name is Jackie Christina! I am a rising junior studying Applied Math - Economics on the Mathematical Finance track at Brown! I transferred to Brown in the Fall of 2022 from the University of Rhode Island where I was in the Doctor of Pharmacy Program while also pursuing a degree in Neuroscience. I was born and raised in Narragansett, Rhode Island and I absolutely love this state!

The best part about Brown is the numerous opportunities to get involved. This year, I joined Brown's Healthcare Investment Group, Bruno Finance Society, Women in Business, the Intercollegiate Finance Journal, and FinTech @ Brown. I met so many new people and I am excited to continue to do so. There is a club for every interest at Brown!

Brown is truly amazing and there are so many beautiful parts of campus. Some of my favorite places to study are the ERC and Blue Room, although I do get a lot of work done in the SciLi Stacks. Haha! And, when Rhode Island weather happens to be in our favor, I love taking walks to the Pedestrian Bridge and India Point Park.

Brown has something for everyone and I feel very grateful for the experience I have had so far. One piece of advice that I would give to incoming transfer students is to take every aspect of the transition to Brown one step at a time. You're not going to have it all figured out during orientation, and that is completely okay! Take your time exploring campus and your classes and just enjoy the journey!
