Undergraduate Orientation

Matthew is a third-year RUE student concentrating in Engineering. In addition to TA’ing and HTA’ing in the Applied Math and CS departments respectively, he currently serves as President of the Resumed Undergraduate Student Association (RUSA) and is looking forward to joining Brown EMS as a First Responder this Fall. When not working or studying, he can often be found building in the John Street Scene Shop or unwinding in the GCB.

He has three pieces of advice for new Transfers:
Attend office-hours even if you’re comfortable with the material. It can be a great way to form relationships with your Professors and fellow classmates.

Dive into Brown head-first. The time will fly by quickly and there are so many amazing opportunities available to students, so get involved ASAP.

Ignore your parents’ advice not to talk to strangers. The Brown community is amazing. Meet as many people as you can. Expand your network.
