Biography
Hey! My name is Sam and I’m a rising senior from Canton, Connecticut studying Applied Math & Computer Science. At Brown, I’m an Outing Club leader, a member of Pfunk men’s ultimate frisbee, a Market Shares volunteer, and former BOLT leader! (You should definitely consider doing BOLT — it’s an awesome way to get outside and meet some returning students!) I also TA in the CS department and did computer vision-related research last semester. In general, I love to run, bike, watch movies, and spend time with friends outdoors. This spring, I’m studying abroad in Copenhagen!
When I transferred to Brown, I found that so many returning students were excited to meet new transfer students with different backgrounds and experiences! My advice would be to embrace this wholeheartedly and take the initiative to talk to/get meals with/hang out with students from your classes, clubs, and dorm — it will be so worth the effort.
