Biography
Hey! My name is Sammy - I'm concentrating in CS + APMA and transferred from Georgia Tech in Fall 2024, but grew up in the Boston suburbs. At Brown, I volunteer with HOPE (the student-run housing justice organization) on the Outreach team, am part of the Chinese Student Association, and really enjoy teaching as a TA in the CS department. I'm big on lifting and running too - ask me for the best running routes (and add me on Strava)!
The best advice I can give you as a new transfer student is to "say yes to everything." I did so much my first few weeks at Brown, and these experiences really helped me integrate into the community. Hit Jo's at 1am even if you're exhausted, do the cold plunge even if you know you'd hate it, shop that random class with your friend even if you think you'd never take it. Excited to meet you all and welcome to Brown!
