Undergraduate Orientation

Hi, I'm Sara! I will be a senior this fall and study English Nonfiction at Brown. I grew up in San Francisco, CA and transferred from Northeastern University. My nerdy interests include critical adoption studies, memoir, and modernist literature, but I spend most of my time at school reading and writing about non-traditional families. Beyond my academic life and TRUE, I love to publish my writing through on-campus publications including Post- Magazine and Sole Magazine (Brown's journal for creative nonfiction). I have also dabbled in the club swim team and intramural sports, and try watch as many of Brown's comedy/improv shows as I can. 

My advice for incoming transfers is plagiarized from what my transfer advisors told me: You will meet many characters at Brown; lean into them.
