Undergraduate Orientation

Hi, everyone! My name is Tiffany Xiao, and I'm a rising junior from Irvine, California. I transferred in Fall 2024 from UCLA, and I'm concentrating in Behavioral Decision Sciences and pursuing a certificate in Data Fluency.

On campus, I conduct research on economics in education with the Annenberg Institute, and I'm heavily involved with the Brown Consulting Club and The Brown Daily Herald. Beyond academics, I love music! Every other Tuesday night, you can find me in the Underground supporting Brown Jazz Jams, and in my free time, I play violin with ensembles on campus and help organize student performances with Sounds@Brown.

If you ever walk into the Blue Room, you'll probably find me cozied up in a booth with my matcha, pretending to do work but actually watching Grey's Anatomy. Feel free to come chat! (Bonus points if you want to talk about going to a concert together in Boston.)

My best piece of advice for transfers is to talk to everyone! Although it may seem intimidating, all of the upperclassmen, your peers, and other TRUE students want you to succeed and are incredibly kind and knowledgeable. Text someone to grab coffee or lunch — you won't regret it!
